Snuggle Bug

My snuggle bug,

You were a sensitive, funny, and adorable little guy. When you were born, I knew instantly that you would have a calmer demeanor than your sister. You quickly became a mama's boy and screamed your head off whenever anyone tried to hold you. I giggled when people would bring you back to me screaming, saying he only wants you. You would instantly calm down once you were back in my arms.

There were many nights we fell asleep together on the couch. You wrapped your little hand around my pinky as you slept to ensure I didn't leave you.  That moment is something I think about often and will never forget. You were my little snuggle bug from day one.

Running away from me became a game to you when you started walking. You would run away from me as fast as possible, then stop quickly to look over your shoulder to ensure I was still following you. You would flash a smile at me and continue running as you laughed down the hallway. Somehow, you learned how to sit on a skateboard and scoot around using your hands, and I started running away from you. We couldn't help but laugh together as you followed me around on the skateboard.

You were very comfortable with our dog. When you were a baby, she loved to lay in front of your feet, so I would prop your legs on top of her. She became your ottoman, and it was adorable. Since then, the two of you bonded, and she tolerated you pulling her hair as you petted her most of the time. You liked being around animals and didn't have any fear around them.

Like your sister, you loved playing on the play structure; the swings were your favorite. You enjoyed playing with trains, trucks, soccer balls, and your sister's Barbies. Your sister would come down the hallway all frazzled that you had one of her Barbies in your hands. I genuinely believe you loved getting a reaction out of her. It was so funny as she threw her little tantrum; you would be behind her, holding her Barbie with a massive smile. You had fantastic facial expressions.

You were a little character with a ridiculously contagious laugh. I do have to say that you were a little mischievous. You enjoyed dumping things onto the floor, like pasta, which I would pick up, and you would toss onto the floor again as you thought it was so funny. You used to pull your sister's hair, and I had to laugh because watching the two of you was entertaining. She found it somewhat amusing, and the both of you would end up laughing on the couch together.

You were so young when you became an angel, and it breaks my heart that I didn't get to have more time with you. I think about what you would be like today, what you would be into, what your personality would be like, and what your favorite movie or song would be. You already had a magnetic personality when you were young, so I can only imagine how magnetic you would be today.

There are no words to express how much I miss you. Even though you aren't here physically, I know you are always around us. You were that adorable little boy running around with a massive smile everyone wanted to see grow up. I loved you then, and I will love you always. You were the best little brother your sister could ask for.
